Using Your Bookmarks

There are several ways to access your bookmarks through BookmarkSync.

1 One is through the Sync2It web site - you have access to your bookmarks everywhere you can connect to the Internet. Use the bookmark icon (shown to the right) to access your bookmarks after you log into the service.

2 The second way is through the Sync2It taskbar icon. If you left-click on it, a menu with your bookmarks will pop up. Selecting one of these will bring up a browser to view that page. If you have more than one browser installed, SyncIT will use the current default browser.

Note: Left-click on the icon to view your bookmarkset, right-click on the icon to access the system tools and setup menus.

The Bookmark Search Tree

Find any website fast, even if you have thousands of bookmarks!

Even before you open your browser, you can easily find any and all of the websites that match a particular search query before ever opening your favorite browser. When you right-click on the Sync2It icon and select "Search Favorites", the Bookmark Search Menu appears.

This handy tool displays your favorites in a popular tree view that allows you to organize your favorites directly without ever opening a browser. You can edit and delete links using a friendly and intuitive interface.

Now you can easily collect thousands of bookmarks and find any website quickly and easily by typing a keyword or two in the search box. All the websites matching the query will be displayed in the list below.

Have you ever needed to find where a link is located in your collection of bookmarks? Simply right-click on the search result and select 'Locate' and you will see the link highlighted in the search tree above. No other browser offers this essential functionality and you'll really come to appreciate its power after using it a few time.

Now that you've located where you want to go, just double click on the site and your favorite browser will open with the page you selected. You no longer are forced to wait for your browser to open before you can even start looking for the website you want to go to, if you are able to remember where you actually filed it.

4 Another way to access your bookmarks is through our javascript or JSON feeds. These feeds are accessed by copying a simple javascript code fragment onto your blog or website. From there, you (or anyone else visiting your site) can access any of the links in one of your published folders right from the page. The benefit of this method is that your links are automatically updated on all your websites anytime you make a change using your favorite browser bookmark editor.

5Many people choose to access their links through popular RSS aggregator programs. Throughout the Sync2It website, you will see links that will supply RSS feeds to many of the various readers. Look for the orange icon.

6Folders with the newspaper icon are subscriptions - these folders appear along with your regular favorites and are maintained by other users that are interested in the same topics that you are. You can easily subscribe and unsubscribe from hundreds of active clusters anytime. See Subscribing to other people's bookmarks.
