Proxy Login Screen

Sync2It will show a proxy login screen if you connect to the Internet through a secure firewall or proxy and this firewall or proxy requires you to log in before browsing the Internet.

Normally, this screen will appear each time the Sync2It BookmarkSync software starts up (each time you log in to, or restart, your computer).

If you select the Save Password checkbox, Sync2It will remember the username/password for your proxy and thus will not display this screen the next time you restart your computer.

The normal behavior of the Sync2It BookmarkSync software is to connect to the Sync2It database on the Internet each time you modify your bookmarks. If you have a secure gateway that uses frequently changing passwords (say a WatchWord or Security Dynamics based password device) then this screen may appear every time you change your bookmarks. Clear the Continue automatic synchronizing checkbox to prevent Sync2It from connecting automatically. You may also change this setting from the popup menu by choosing the Auto Sync menu item.

Note: if automatic synchronizing is disabled, then the Sync2It taskbar icon will remain gray after any changes to your bookmarks. Double-click on the icon (or use the Sync Now! popup menu item) when you're ready to synchronize your bookmarks.
