Sync2It Client - Version 1.8.x [beta version]

 

This is version 1.8.x of Sync2It.com's BookmarkSync for Windows product. This version can be retrieved at http://www.sync2it.com/download/default.php.

Changes

This version is a feature release which:
  • Now supports Opera 8.5
  • Now supports Firefox version 1.5
  • Now supports Netscape version 8.0
  • Enabled automatic client software upgrading and installation
  • Added License & Subscription information to settings window
  • Added Bookmark count to settings window
  • Added support links for the Toolbar and Subscription options
  • Added support link for Bookmark Clustering
  • Added support links for locating deleted, dead and duplicate links from the server
  • Added new and modified existing client communications commands *A (alerts), *U (allowing software updates)

The Sync2It Client is licensed to you through the GNU General Public License, a copy of the source code may be downloaded here: Sync2ItClient v1.8.x (Source).zip

Bug Fixes

  • Changed default browser registry settings
  • Enabled better system diagnostics and troubleshooting data
  • Updated interface and graphics
  • Corrected a problem with Firefox not acting as default browser
  • Fixed problem with Firefox's Bookmarks Toolbar Folder being duplicated/ignored.
  • Added distinct 'Firefox' browser class, due to the ever increasing variations from Mozilla base class.
  • Fixed a problem where a broken network connection was causing the client to shutdown.
  • Fixed problem with apostrophe's being incorrectly translated as ''' in Firefox 1.5
